Centralized Logon Accounting (whoson)
WhosOn Windows - Index
The client application is intended to be runned at logon/logoff to register session start/stop events thru the web service. The easiest way to accomplish that is to use GPO (group policy object) and add user logon/logoff calls to the client application (see -i and -o option).
The package also contains a Windows service (whosond.exe) that listens for WTS logon/logoff events. As running the service don't require special setup, its might be a better option for non-domain deployment.
Which version to use?
The client application/installer has been updated for Windows 10 (64-bit), but it's possible to have an previous version installed as the same time if wanted.
- Use version >= 1.4.1 for Windows 10 (64-bit).
- Use version <= 1.4.0 for Windows 7 (32-bit).
The application is known to work on Windows 7/10 (32- and 64-bit). It's written in C# and
you need to install .NET 4.x for the latest version.
See requirements for details.
